The 5th Annual Sylvanvale Pre-WWII Car Show
April 14 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
The Sylvanvale Pre WWII Car Show, supported by Sutherland Shire Council and Cronulla Rotary, is one of Sutherland Shire’s largest and most popular community events on the annual calendar.
Featuring a spectacular array of more than 60 vintage cars, stalls and a free Sky Zone Kids Adventure area, it’s always a fantastic day out.
Cronulla Rotary would love some Rotaractors to come along for a few hours to volunteer (shift times are flexible). Volunteers are strongly encouraged to dress in period fashion, come down and help them with various tasks, but mainly to create an atmosphere for those visiting.
Money raised supports Sylvanvale, a local charity working to deliver personalised, strengths based support for people with a disability and their carers.
This year funds raised are for a brand new project for children and young people with autism and other complex needs. For these young people, the world can be an extremely challenging environment and many experience anxiety.
The space will include quiet zones where children and young people can use calming strategies such as sitting with an iPad and listening to music. There will be areas for engaging in activities that spark interest, as well as sensory areas and places to connect with other young people through planned socialising.
The space will also run transition programs for school leavers and young adults with complex needs, supporting them to develop the skills necessary to transition out of a centre-based support into the community and work.
This project will provide a truly unique environment where young people who hear, see and feel the world differently can be comfortable, listened to and supported.
