The Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) is a week long residential forum for 19 – 26 year olds who wish to further develop their leadership skills. RYLA is fully sponsored by Rotary and a fantastic opportunity for those with leadership experience to extend their proficiencies by gaining an understanding of communication avenues, personality types, leadership styles and team work.
RYLA is a truly unique experience, providing a chance to meet people from a wide range of backgrounds, as well as engage and undertake workshops with guest speakers with different perspectives on leadership, personal development and community.
RYLA is strongly attended by Rotaractors as a key personal development opportunity. With a community mindset, and often leadership experience within their club, Rotaractors make great candidates for the award. In fact, Rotaractors are often exceptional leaders that return to RYLA to facilitate and run the program in subsequent years! Through the program, RYLArians are often inspired to give back `to their community, and often do so by joining Rotaract.
The next RYLA will be held from 10 - 17 January 2015 at Stanwell Tops. Sydney City Rotaract will be sponsoring a candidate to attend RYLA this year. Please contact the Professional Development Director if you are interested in applying!
